4泊5日の国際交流 「出会いと感動」フォトレポート
Photo journal update: The last 5 days of “deeply moving” international
exchange trip.
Of course, Luther College Concert Band carried out the scheduled four
nights and five days of cross-cultural musical exchange as planned, but
there were other very meaningful interactions during their stay. The
musical performances and cultural experiences at the schools, nursing
home and kindergarten, the living room chats with their homestay
families, the sightseeing and random meetings with various people around
Kumamoto and Uto have all made possible a very touching and deeply felt visit.

Hello everyone! Konnichi wa! Jake Bohlken here, updating on behalf of Adam who has had some trouble with attaining internet access as of late. We have seen and experienced so much since our last update! We travelled to Kyoto, and now have been experiencing Uto with our first stay with host families. They are amazing to be with, and are treating us all like royalty! We are very lucky.
We have seen so much, including Nizo Castle, the Golden Pavilion, and the Kiyomizu Temple. I would love to upload some pictures, but I do not have a way to upload them at the moment. However, you can check out the blog of our host, Kutani. The address is http://kutanishingo.otemo-yan.net/
This morning, we met the mayor of Uto City and held a ceremony planting the hydrangeas that were sent before last year’s tour. After, we split into small bands and visited schools and nursing homes. Each group had an incredible experience, and we were all warmly recieved. The people here in Uto appreciate our presence greatly! We are only here until Monday, and I can tell we will all miss this place.
Tomorrow is our first formal concert in the Uto City Concert Hall. We will upload pictures after that!
